Philosophy
Our Philosophy:
The performance of music in an ensemble setting is an experience which provides enrichment and joy for both the performer and the audience who shares that performance.
Our Purpose:
The purpose of the Nova Scotia Second Chances Band Program is to encourage the musical learning of adults from our community and to provide them the opportunity to:
- Learn how to read music and to play one of the musical instruments found in a concert or jazz band,
- Rehearse and perform in a musical setting that allows the participants to feel that they are a contributing and integral part of the group as a whole,
- Rehearse and perform music that is appropriate for the level of skill achieved by the performers,
- Find unique and enjoyable opportunities to perform and share music within our community.
